It is a city whose turbulent history, unique monuments, southerners\u2019 spirit and beautiful nature has inspired many artists. Nade\u017eda Petrovi\u0107, enchanted by the beauty of the Ni\u0161 surrounding areas, established a painters\u2019 colony in Si\u0107evo in 1905; Stevan Sremac wrote his most significant works inspired by Ni\u0161 people\u2019s way of living and humor. The city\u2019s authenticity has inspired poets, musicians, travel writers, bohemians\u2026 tourists say every person can find something in Ni\u0161 for themselves. <\/em><\/h4>\n

The museums and monuments tell the stories that are part of an over-2000-year long history \u2013 You must see the Fortress, Mediana, \u010cegar, Skull Tower and Bubanj, and hear about Emperor Constantine, Duke Sindjeli\u0107\u2026 \u201cThe history of Ni\u0161 is more than the history of one city or one nation. Learning its culture, you will experience European history in one place\u201d \u2013 it is read in the book Ni\u0161 in Words and Images<\/strong>, published by the Tourism Organization of Ni\u0161. With its rich content and illustrations, it reveals the symbols of the city, and is an invitation to discover Ni\u0161 at the same time.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery city has several faces \u2013 otherwise, it is not a city. The one is the whole of what is visible; the other is the particularities you individually notice, depending on your interests; all these elements make the unity of differences. Ni\u0161 is also an inspiration for the people who prepare the tourist offer to arrange that interaction between the city, the people, nature, the old and the new in a new way\u201d, says Uro\u0161 Parli\u010d<\/strong>, director of the Tourism Organization of Ni\u0161<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Thanks to the low cost Wizz Air<\/em> and Ryanair<\/em> companies, regular flights have been established from Constantine the Great<\/strong> Ni\u0161 Airport to destinations in Germany, Switzerland, Slovakia, Holland, Sweden and Italy \u2013 which has in turn made Ni\u0161 ever more popular for tourists. Given that Ryanair<\/em> flies from Ni\u0161 to Berlin, Bratislava, D\u00fcsseldorf and Milan, the advertisement of Ni\u0161 City as Carousel has been launched on the Italian and German websites of this airline, and the campaign will spread onto Slovakia and Austria. The city has been promoted regionally \u2013 in the Bulgarian, Romanian and Greek markets \u2013 continuously for several years.<\/p>\n

Tourists are known to also be attracted by the specialties of Ni\u0161 cuisine \u2013 especially barbecue. The wise saying reads: Don\u2019t eat barbecue northwards from Ni\u0161, roast meat southwards from Ni\u0161, but eat b\u00f6rek cheese pie only in Ni\u0161. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe first b\u00f6rek<\/em> in this city dates back in 1498, when a famous baker from Istanbul made following the firman-ordered recipe. Ni\u0161 has a long culinary tradition and recognizable delicatessens, topped by Ni\u0161 people\u2019s refined way of enjoying food \u2013 the<\/em> gusto and hospitality of ours\u2026 Beside the quality and attractive prices, music and warm welcome guarantee a good time. At the beginning of the former Kazand\u017eijska Street, today full of pubs and caf\u00e9s, there is the monument to Stevan Sremac and Kal\u010da, a character from his novel, sitting at a table \u2013 which reminds us that Ni\u0161 people also lived in pubs in the late 19th<\/sup> century.
\nThe rich gastronomic offer has also inspired a project of ours \u2013 Hedonism and Tourism<\/strong>, which we will present within the International Fair of Tourism and Active Rest in Ni\u0161, from 31st<\/sup> March to 1st<\/sup> April\u201d,<\/strong>\u00a0says Mr. Parli\u0107.<\/p>\n
